The Authorization to Stay for Studies is intended to enable the foreign student to remain in Spain for a period of more than ninety days to carry out or extend studies in an authorized educational center in Spain, in a full-time program, leading to obtaining a degree or certificate of studies.

Its duration is one or two years. If necessary, you must request an annual extension while you continue your studies.

If you are in Spain, you can process the Authorization to Stay for Studies in our country, but you must bear in mind that can renew your student stay permission starting 60 DAYS before your TIE card expires or up to 90 DAYS after the expiration date.

How to get the PRÓRROGA DE ESTANCIA POR ESTUDIOS ?

In the Registries of any administrative body of the General State Administration, Autonomous Communities or Town Halls addressed to the Immigration Office.

What documents are needed?

• Impreso de solicitud , in official model EX-00 duly completed and signed. 
• Complete copy of the valid passport or travel title, with a minimum validity of the period for which the stay is requested.
• Original NIE student card .
• Empadronamiento .
• Enrollment of the new course ( Mtrricula ) .
• Certificate of achievement of the previous course .
• Public insurance or private health insurance arranged with an insurance company authorized to operate in Spain that provides full health coverage and is valid throughout the validity period of the requested extension .
• Economic means necessary for the period requested and for the return to the country of origin: bank certificate, bank movements, responsible declaration, subsidies, scholarships, aid, etc. ( no less than 7444 euros.)
